Martin Boots Lodge – Range Rules & Member Conduct
Eligibility & Access
The range is for active police officers and associate lodge members only.
Guests are permitted only when accompanied by an active or associate lodge member at all times.
The sponsoring member is fully responsible for the conduct and safety of their guest(s).
Safety Rules
All firearms must be handled safely at all times.
Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
Always keep firearms pointed downrange.
Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire.
Eye and ear protection are required for everyone on the range.
No handling of firearms while anyone is downrange.
Range Use
Shooting is permitted only from designated firing areas.
Targets must be placed in approved locations and must not damage range infrastructure.
No shooting outside established directions or beyond range boundaries.
Alcohol, drugs, or impairment of any kind are strictly prohibited while shooting.
Conduct
Be respectful of other members, guests, and neighboring property.
Unsafe behavior or reckless conduct will not be tolerated.
Follow any posted signs or instructions from lodge leadership.
Anyone violating rules may be asked to leave and could lose range privileges.
Cleanup & Maintenance
Clean up all brass, targets, trash, and personal items before leaving.
Dispose of trash in designated containers or take it with you.
Leave the range in better condition than you found it.
Report any damage, safety concerns, or maintenance issues to lodge leadership.
General
The range is a shared resource — use it responsibly.
Continued access depends on safe behavior, respect for others, and adherence to these rules.
Currently, the Martin Boots Lodge offers a single 100-yard shooting range with a solid dirt berm backstop.
Future plans include:
A picnic area for families and guests
A fishing pond
A fully enclosed, 360-degree practice structure designed for safe and enjoyable recreational use
